Some of my clients come to me with stories of how their previous designers didn't complete their project, did a terrible job, or simply took their deposit and never did anything. I want to trust you and I want you to trust me as well, so I don't ask for a deposit or upfront cash unless expensive printing is involved. All I ask for is your contact information. It's low risk for you, and really you shouldn't have to pay before getting anything in return.
I'm an Advertising graduate
I studied Design, Advertising and Marketing and graduated as best of class from the Advertising program at Conestoga College, Kitchener. I've also studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Waterloo, I speak three languages, and I've worked as a print designer, web designer, lab technician, au pair, and, well, Taco Bell, not that it has anything to do with design whatsoever. My point is, I'm much more than self proclaimed designer. And that counts for something.
I offer professional service at affordable prices
Working freelance, I have no office space or employees to pay for, unlike design agencies. Why should you care? Because in a design agency, the costs of designing and coding a website is at the bare minimum one or two thousand dollars. To which they add a profit margin. Since my costs are, for the same project, next to nothing, I can afford to charge you much, much less.
I supply fully customized, personalized products
How great would it be to call Microsoft and talk to the actual person who coded your operating system? How great would it be to call Toyota or GM and speak directly to the engineer who designed your car dashboard? Since I have no receptionist (the infamous gate-keeper), you get to talk to me directly. You get to email me directly, so I can get back to you ridiculously quickly.
I have the technical skills
By hiring me you don't just hire a designer, you also hire a web programmer with experience in HTML, CSS, PHP, Content Mangement Systems, Search Engine Optimization... and in case you need someone bilingual, I'm fluent in French. I can usually assist my clients with any questions or concerns they have, for instance choosing and setting up a host for their website. And I'm always more than willing to learn something I don't already know!
I'm professional in my work but casual otherwise
I take my work very seriously, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I like to deliver professional products, and I handle each project professionally. However, I don't like wearing ties and using buzzwords, and I like to be direct and honest. I try to run my business in the most hassle-free way because in the end, it's your business and your money we're talking about, and additional stress is the last thing you need.
